Kelly Curran

Support Teacher, Sycamore Classroom

Kelly grew up in Arlington, MA, on the outskirts of Boston. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2012 with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. While there, Kelly had many opportunities teaching and supporting children, teenagers and adults with special needs. Post-graduation, Kelly worked at a Boarding school in England teaching P.E. and coaching lacrosse to middle and high school students. In 2013, Kelly returned home, where she began working full time for L.A.B.B.B. Collaborative as a Teacher’s Assistant (TA). Kelly worked as a middle school TA for three years, engaging with and supporting students with mild to severe special needs.

Kelly appreciates fostering positive relationships--internal and external from school--with students, colleagues, families and therapy specialists. Kelly was the varsity lacrosse coach at Arlington High School for three years and alongside coaching, she is an avid participant in Women’s lacrosse and hockey leagues. In 2013, Kelly ran the London Marathon for the “Get Kids Going” charity and is interested in continuing to run marathons in Oregon for similar charities. Kelly is passionate about working with students with Autism and enjoys watching students’ progress academically, socially and behaviorally. She is excited for this new opportunity and looks forward to becoming part of the Victory Academy community.
