Leslie Wilson began teaching at Victory Academy in the fall of 2014. She has an M.Ed. from the University of Illinois and taught for six years in Chicago before moving to Portland. She continued to teach for another five years before her first son and current Victory student, Nathan, was born. Leslie's passion has always been hands-on learning, whether that be cooking Asian food while studying China or building model bridges to determine load capacity for a variety of designs.
Teaching at Victory is a blending of Leslie’s professional experience and her journey as a mom of a teenager on the spectrum. She finds her work to be an absolute joy—to see these children and their growth every day.
Leslie's free time is spent with her family: gardening and exploring new restaurants with her husband, bike rides with her two boys, and walks with their big dog Rocky.
Leslie is the Classroom Teacher in Juniper for the 2015-2016 school year.
