Teaching Assistant
Jennifer Jacobs joined Victory Academy as a Teaching Assistant in summer of 2023. She has worked in education and in helping professions for several years, including acting as a Montessori and orphanage volunteer teacher at an NGO in Nepal, an ESL teacher/visiting professor in South Korea, a middle school ESL teacher in Taiwan, a Special Education Teaching Assistant in the Lake Oswego School District, and as a caregiver for Alzheimer’s patients in Ashland, Oregon.
Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Southern Oregon University. Jennifer feels the influences of her childhood played a significant role in her career choices. Her mother hosted a Montessori school in the family’s basement when she was a child. Due to school zone changes or moves, Jennifer attended a different school every year till the 7th grade. While these experiences fostered an innate interest in learning and exploration, the challenging times adjusting as the “square-pegged new kid” also evolved into an earnest desire to advocate for kids and people that don’t quite define “mainstream”.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys going on adventures with her boyfriend and their new little dog, Elly. She also delights in yoga, meditation, Zumba, music, good chocolate, and telling "funny" puns.
